If you're interested in doing something similar to this follow the directions below.

Talk to your school's principal, teachers, and students first. Tell them about your idea to create an extra curricular program to get involved with the environment.

Find an empty, unused space within walking distance from your school. The, make sure it is free to the public. (So you aren't trespassing.)

Brainstorm and come up with ideas of many ways to improve the lot. Next, make sure it is useful for other area.

Once your team is sufficient, you can start to enter competitions. Try to get your team noticed and keep on working hard. NEVER GIVE UP!
